The Sacramento Bee reports that while many politicians hope to replace lost traditional jobs with new “green” jobs, the numbers simply do not add up. California’s unemployment rate currently stands at 12.4% with over 2.2 million residents unemployed. Economists caution against the notion that the severely troubled state economy can replace lost traditional jobs with green jobs. While green jobs are growing, 97% of jobs remain in traditional fields.
