Harry Alford, President and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce writes that AB 32 will be devastating to minority communities and should be suspended. Unemployment in the African American and Hispanic communities is as much as twice that of whites, so AB 32′s job-killing effects and nearly $4,000 per household increase in the cost of housing, transportation, food and energy will be particularly burdensome for these communities.
